Performance: Sara Debevec

Sara Debevec holds a BA Sociology degree from Goldsmiths College London and an MSc in Urban Studies from University College London. She is an international, multimedia solo performance artist and writer drawing inspiration from collective memory, family history, bereavement, belonging and cityscapes imbued with trauma. She has taught at Lazarski University, Warsaw and was a blogger in residence for Southbank Centre London. Sara Debevec’s work has been shown internationally in cultural centers and art venues around the world including Pioneer Works in New York; Highways Performance Space in Los Angeles; The Roundhouse in London; Glastonbury Festival in Sommerset; Centrum Sztuki Fort Sokolnickiego in Warsaw and Greenhouse in Berlin to name a few. Her work was featured in a collection of poetry published by Antlers Press, ‘Bad Brains’ as well as in Relapse Collective Art Magazine.

Sara Debevec will be presenting her newest performance, entitled “My Family Before Me,” on Saturday, October 1 at 6:00 pm in the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium.
